Outdoor Ice Skating

We went ice skating today at the schools ice rink. The ice was really bumpy and I don't know if they do ever smooth it, but it was still fun! P.S thats the temple in the background of many of the shots, you can just see it everywhere!
This is Alex trying to spin! This is Alex after trying to spin! This is Laura trying to spin!

This is Laura making Alex feel better by "falling down" :)

Luckily, we got better at the whole spinning thing and after a few bumps and bruises (All from Alex... Laura didn't fall down once!) here were the results!!

Alex's spin!

Pretty Snow and Deadly Icicles!

The snow fall the other day was so pretty! They were really big flakes that piled on top of everything. Every tree branch had at least an inch and a half of piled snow on each branch, big or small. Make sure to click on the pictures to view them better.

I wonder how long they've been out of town? This is the entrance to our apartment... look at the how steep the driveway is! Everyday we see cars sliding back into the road.. a little dangerous I would say. You can see the snow piled on the tree and lights. In the background is the Temple. I tried to get some pictures of the snow piled on the branches.. look really close! These icicles are huge, at least 6 feet long, and some even bigger. It's a good thing no one walks between the buildings. They are blocked off for these obvious reasons.

I wonder how much water Kennon had to boil before Zeke was born?

Rexburg Temple open house!

Here are some pictures of the new Rexburg Temple, right up the road from my apartment. The first three pictures I got online because I wanted to show the true beauty of it. My camera couldn't take these shots! Alex and I went to the open house on the 8th of January. It is soo beautiful inside! The dedication for the temple will be on Feb. 3.

Our little homecoming surprise...

When we first made it back home after Christmas break, it was nighttime. So, we couldn't really see anything outside. When we woke up the next day and decided to go and buy groceries, we found this.....

would the owner of the silver Tiburon please unbury their car? *Ahem* If you look out your passenger window you will see... nothing. And if you could see out the window, big whoop. You can't get the door open because the snow plowers decided our car was a good parking spot for their load of snow! I mean seriously, look at the side view mirrors, and look at the pile of snow to the right of the car. It's almost even.

ice? nah, just snow.
The left side wasn't as bad. I still couldn't open the door which was bad because our window scrapper/snow brush was inside the car. Nothing a couple of kicks couldn't handle.

Luckily our neighbors who were on their way to go to the bookstore saw our predicament and got their snow clearing brush and helped us out. After we were able to get into the car, we had to rock it back and forth to try and move in out of the parking spot. One of our neighbors spotted a few snow shovels resting on the managers building so we borrowed those, cleared out behind the car, and finally got the car away from it's premature frozen burial.

Christmas Presents

These are some of the presents we received for Christmas. But (not to sound cliche or anything) the best present was being able to spend time with our families. Click on the collage picture to read what it says.

These Photos are of a guitar Alex got. It's a Kona and it's super cool.

Home in Rexburg

Here are some pictures of our little apartment in Rexburg, and a couple of random pics. Our apartment is across from campus and less than a block from the new Rexburg Temple. We can see it really easily from our parking lot. I'll take some better pictures of the outside of our apartment and temple whenever it gets sunny out. This is our bedroom. Most of our clothes are in plastic storage bins under the bed or hanging in the closet, which is right across from the bed. Our bathroom door is on the wall to the right of the tv. This is our little kitchen. It is perfect for the two of us because we have just enough cabinet space to store our kitchen supplies and food. This is our living room with our cute christmas tree and decorations. Alex's Neko keyboard is to the left of the picture in the corner. Our coffee/dinner table is actually Alex's Neko case on some plastic drawers, so we have storage under there too! This is our front door and tv stand, about 3 feet to the right of the picture is the fridge and kitchen area. This is our view from the front door on the 3rd floor. BYU-I is right across the street. It was sleeting when i took the picture so you can't really see much. Above the tree line there is a small mountain range that spans half of the horizon. I think that we have the best view in rexburg. We are on top of the rexburg hill so we see the city out our front window. This is Kelly Canyon Ski Resort, about 25-30 minutes away. It is pretty small, with three main lifts and a child's lift that takes you up the bunny slope. I really like going here because it is cheaper than the fancier ski places and its hardly ever crowded because usually just locals go.
